About Jeff Taylor
I am a baby boomer, hippy dropout, war protester, army medic, free-thinking humanist, physicist, geologist, skeptic, father, grandfather, and husband. I’m an optimistic dreamer and a hopeful observer. I love to hike in the mountains, swim in the ocean, dance in the moonlight, and make love with my wife, Elvira.
I can make your submarine quiet to avoid detection and I can adjust your warship’s magnetic signature to avoid destruction. But 30 years as a Navy Physicist was enough. I want my life to have another meaning.
I write because I have something to say, because I want to make money, because I want to save humanity, because I want to do something more with my life, because I want to make myself proud, my family proud, my parents proud, and because I need something to do.
The scientific knowledge of who we are in this universe is the most enlightening information in existence and makes us unique among animals. Scientific knowledge will show us the path to a better world civilization. Exciting new scientific discoveries happen almost daily. I appreciate my front-row seat on the Universe. I hope you appreciate your’s.
My collection of 1950s Ace Double Science Fiction paperbacks are as beautiful for their cover art as they are for their stories. Science fiction fuels our imagination with future possibilities for humanity. I try to write about positive future possibilities because I believe in a positive future for humanity.
The human race will one day unite in cooperation around the proper management of this beautiful planet Earth. We will learn to appreciate ourselves and each other. It will take time and will not be easy, but I believe it can be achieved, and I would like to see it happen.
Life is a beautiful gift, but imperfect and difficult to appreciate without the necessities (food, shelter, good health, and love). My first responsibility as a human being is to appreciate life, love myself, and wish that all people everywhere have the ability to appreciate their lives. To love yourself is not easy, but it is worth the effort. The alternative is Hell. Be happy, love your life, and wish the same for others.
